いま『きもの』は、とても不思議な状況におかれています。
業界内部では、所謂『着物ばなれ』によって苦戦を強いられている‥というのが常識。
ところが世間では、美術館で開かれる『きもの』関連のイベントが大盛況だったり、雑誌にさかれる『きもの』に関するページ数が眼に見えて増えていたり‥まるで『きもの』がブームになっているようです。
このギャップって、いったいなんなのでしょう。
そんなタイミングで、私たちは『ひびのこづえ』さんと出会いました。そして、彼女と『きもの』の楽しさと、嫌なことを語り合い、このたびの作品を制作いたしました。
ちょっと気取ったお出かけや、いささか気軽なお呼ばれに、自然に楽しく着こなせる、『大人っぽいけどかわいい』きものの誕生です。
